Introduction:  Waiting on good things to happen takes faith.  But, “waiting” doesn’t mean “doing nothing.”  Faith should generate action, walking in faith consists of making good choices.  Everyday we can choose to create the best attitude, help others, and take important steps towards what matters most to us:  our family, friends, job, co-workers and just plain ol’ being a good citizen.

I’ve found that there is always a light at the tunnel and it is never so bright as when life is the darkest.

Faith

What’s the Secret to coping with life during hard times? Have you heard the saying “There is light at the end of the tunnel.”? This famous saying means better times are ahead.  ”…at the end of the tunnel” implies that we must keep moving towards this light.  It may be a distance yet ahead, but it’s there.  It brings hope.

Life is often a struggle during which we must try to overcome difficult and painful events.   Life seems to be sprinkled with just enough happy times to keep us moving forward.  Age teaches us that hard things lurk around the corner, but we can still maintain a positive approach, as life also teaches that we can make it.

The saying, “there is light is at the end of the tunnel” brings comfort.  Those words can motivate us to keep moving; to keep trying; to give and accept help from others.  It is also a message that working hard will be rewarded.

It is a fact that we all like happiness, but, we shouldn’t expect that in every moment. Life is full of opposites, strife, pleasure, pain, joy, hardship and success. What do you think teaches us the most?  Probably both.

The key is to accept help and to give it, so that burdens are bearable.  Depression is the result of hopelessness and despair.  It can freeze us so that we don’t make progress, making solving problems more difficult.  Painful emotions are disabling.  If we can focus on tomorrow, taking small steps when overwhelmed, and asking for and accepting help, we can get closer to that light.

Having close, strong relationships with friends and family members plays a significant role in our ability to cope with painfully dark situations.  Feed the fire of hope by focusing on solutions, and let trials build our faith and strength.  Make good choices and move towards that light.  We can find a time of peace during turmoil. Personal experiences and those of my friends and family, have taught me that we must keep moving when it’s the hardest to do so.

Don’t freeze.  Think forward.  How sad it would be, to be shown at the end of our life that victory was only inches away, and would have been ours if we had not stopped moving.  Can we turn our obstacles into stepping stones of success?  Absolutely.  Personal happiness is a personal decision and a personal journey.  Let us begin, and stay with it to the end.
